How can we make loading docks safer?
Install edge protection like barriers or dock plates to prevent falls, use dock levellers for safe loading/unloading, and ensure loading dock edges are clearly marked. Proper training on dock operations is also essential for safety.
Tadweld can offer solutions for site-specific needs, compliant edge protection, access and restricted access gates etc.
There should be enough space in loading areas for vehicles to move safely and for people to move around. Anyone not involved in loading or unloading should be kept away from loading areas.

Where there is a danger of people falling off platforms or bays in loading areas, you may need to fence the platforms or bays.
Ways to do this include secure guardrails and pallet gates. Tadweld’s Pallet Gates offer a permanent barrier for loading bays up to 3mtr wide, taking a load height of up to 1.8mtr.
