The project required careful planning and coordination to ensure a safe, efficient installation with minimal disruption to the customer’s operations.

Challenges:

  • Working Around Existing Structures: Designing a solution that integrated with the existing pipebridge and surrounding infrastructure.

  • Planning and Installation: Planning the fabrication, delivery and on-site assembly to ensure a safe and efficient installation within the busy loading bay, while keeping disruption and downtime to a minimum.

  • Accurate Project Coordination: Managing site visits, fabrication drawings and installation planning to ensure the solution met the project requirements.

Actions:

  • Site Assessment: Visited site to assess the project and understand the full scope of works.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborated with the client, project manager and contractors to coordinate the installation approach and programme.

  • Installation Strategy: Developed a plan to assemble three steelwork sections on site before lifting the complete structure, including pipework, into position.

  • Lift & Programme Management: Tadweld coordinated the crane, lifting plans and installation schedule to ensure the works were delivered safely and efficiently.

Results:

  • One-Day Installation: Completed the steelwork installation smoothly and efficiently in just one day.

  • Zero Loading Bay Downtime: Installation was planned to avoid disruption to the customer's loading bay operations.

  • Ready for Final Installation: Steelwork was prepared for the next stage, allowing the pipebridge and pipework to be fully installed when required.
