Following several recent line upgrades, Refresco’s site required safe, practical access to both new and existing equipment. Tadweld delivered a range of tailored solutions, including a filler access installation completed in just two weeks, from site survey and material procurement through to final installation. This rapid turnaround minimised disruption and eliminated downtime, while maintaining the highest safety standards throughout.
Challenges:
- Working from third-party drawings while adapting designs on-site to meet evolving project requirements.
- Installing large multi stair crossovers between conveyor loops, ensuring engineer access to critical areas.
- Relocating parts of existing platforms without impacting ongoing production.
- Creating a solution for access to the top of a new filler, when the exact equipment location was unknown until install.
- Minimising downtime during installation and coordinating multiple project elements at the same time.
Actions:
- Tadweld collaborated closely with the project team and site team to refine layouts and stair locations, iterating multiple designs until the final solution was agreed.
- Modified an existing walkover to create space for the new conveyor and increase employee efficiency from different areas of the factory.
- Moved existing high level platform legs to allow installation of a new packaging line, which included calculations, fabricating new parts and matching existing paintwork.
- Conducted detailed on-site measurements and assessments, implementing all necessary RAMS for safe and efficient work.
- Coordinated fabrication and installation timelines with the customer and other trades, allowing critical measurements of the new filler to be taken before rapid fabrication and installation.
