What specific types of secondary steelwork do you fabricate?

We produce a wide range of critical structures manufactured and assembled from beams, columns, box, angles, plates and steel sections. We use these fabrications to create all types of secondary steelwork solutions, like mezzanines, access stairs, machine stands, roof access, pipe bridges and lots more. As a multi-material fabricator, it’s likely that we’re able to manufacture it.

Do you offer hygienic secondary steelwork?

For the food and pharmaceutical industries, we provide secondary steelwork in Grade 304 or 316L stainless steel, featuring fully sealed hollow sections and continuous welds to meet stringent hygiene standards. Platforms, mezzanines, step-ups, machine stands and many of our other products are available in hygienic specifications.

Are all of your welders qualified and coded?

Yes, all structural welding is performed by our team of coded welders. We operate to established standards for welder qualification (BS EN ISO 9606), procedure approval (BS EN ISO 15614), and quality management (BS EN ISO 3834). This ensures that every piece of steel meets the rigorous integrity standards required for structural secondary steelwork.

In most cases we are able to do the vast majority of fabrication off-site. This significantly reduces or eliminates on-site hot work and drilling, enabling our CSCS-accredited teams to install around your operational schedule. Where you have an open product with a risk of contamination, we will work with you via our Risk and Method Statement to ensure our installation methods and schedule are appropriate.

Mezzanine floors are generally considered secondary steelwork because they are usually independent, freestanding structures placed inside an existing building. However, the components within a mezzanine structure are broken down into their own primary and secondary elements; Primary Structural Members: These are the main support columns and primary steel beams (often hot-rolled I-beams) that take the load of the floor. Secondary Structural Members (Mezzanine): These are usually the floor purlins, joists, trimmer, or profiles that span between the primary beams to support the decking
