How do you ensure the guards don't cause overheating of motors?

We utilise materials like perforated plate or wire mesh in areas surrounding motors and drive units. This ensures maximum airflow for cooling while maintaining a physical barrier that prevents fingers or clothing from entering the hazardous zone.

Can you integrate safety interlocks into the guarding?

We can design and fabricate bespoke mounting plates for safety interlocks. This ensures that the conveyor system automatically shuts down if a guard panel is removed or opened, providing the highest level of operator protection.

What materials do you use for your guards?

We offer a variety of materials tailored to your environment. This includes powder-coated or galvanised mild steel for industrial environments and stainless steel for the food and pharmaceutical sectors. For door panels we regularly use perforated designs, or high-strength transparent polycarbonates like Makrolon.

Can you design guards for complex, multi-level conveyor systems?

We specialise in "live" environments with complex geometry. Our 3D design process allows us to create multi-faceted guarding systems that follow the contours of your conveyor, including inclines, declines, and transfer points, ensuring total enclosure.

Conveyor guarding refers to systems of physical barriers designed to protect people and products. For personnel, they act as a safety barrier, preventing contact with mechanical hazards like belts and rollers, as well as protection from exploding bottles or materials spills. For product, they prevent contamination from debris and dirt,covering both the top and sides of conveyors. By encasing these high-risk areas in bespoke mesh, polycarbonate or solid panels, facilities can maintain high-speed throughput while ensuring meet the strict requirements of PUWER and other health and safety regulations.
