Are mobile units moveable by one operator?

In the majority of cases our mobile units are moveable by a single operator. Depending on your working environment, we can adapt items like castor size and material type to accommodate uneven terrain and overall weight of the fabrication. Many of our mobile steps also incorporate forklift tyne lifting points for faster transport across larger sites.

What materials are used for mobile units?

For most industrial environments, we use galvanised mild steel for its balance of strength and durability. For pharmaceutical, food & drink or highly corrosive environments, we fabricate using stainless steel or aluminium mobile solutions. We hold qualifications EN1090-2 (Steel Structures) and EN1090-3 (Aluminium Structures) meaning you know you are buying qualified and quality products.

Can mobile platforms be made height-adjustable?

Absolutely. We can incorporate manual or hydraulic adjustment mechanisms that allow the platform to be raised or lowered to suit the specific task at hand. This is particularly useful in distribution and loading areas where vehicle bed heights vary, or if you have a variety of different height areas on your site requiring access.

Do I need a site survey for a mobile solution?

If you already know what access heights you need then a site survey is not necessarily required, but our team of experts are happy to advise remotely, or come to visit your site to complete a survey. Either way, we can model your use case to ensure our mobile step solution is calibrated for the machinery or vehicles you intend to access.

Mobile access solutions, including mobile steps, stairs and portable ladders, provide safe access to working at height with the added flexibility of movement. These systems are engineered for facilities where access is required at multiple points, such as various loading locations, different machine hoppers, or various points along a production line, but a permanent installation isn't feasible or cost-effective.

When lockable castors are engaged and the stabilising jacks are deployed, our mobile stairs provide a rigid, non-slip working environment that meets the same rigorous safety standards as our fixed installations. If you have the space and a repeatable access requirement, then we would recommend a fixed platform, but if you require flexibility and manoeuvrability, a mobile platform is the best choice.
