What is the maximum load capacity for the AJAX mobile step unit?

The units are designed for heavy-duty industrial use. The aluminium ladder sections are compliant with BS EN 131-7 (formerly Class 1), with a duty rating of 130kg and a maximum vertical static load of 175kg.

Do the units come fully assembled

Mobile Step Units are delivered in 4no’ parts that need simple assembly before use. The main frame with ladder (x1), safety cage (x1) and the outriggers (x2) or counterbalance weights (x2).

Do you offer different castor options for varied ground conditions?

Our standard castors are robust and designed to operate in a range of environments. If you have a specific surface or castor requirement we are very happy to discuss this and find a solution.

How are the steps operated?

All steps come with an O&M manual and further training can be provided. Very simply, units are wheeled into position, secured, and then hand-whinched to the height required. All activities are designed to be completed by a single operative.

Is it possible to get these in stainless steel?

For food production or pharmaceutical environments where hygiene and washdown resistance are critical, we offer full stainless steel upgrades to ensure the unit meets your specific sector standards.

What are Industrial Mobile Tanker Access Steps?

AJAX mobile step units are versatile, height-adjustable safety systems designed to provide secure access to the tops of road tankers, rail wagons, and large industrial vehicles.

Designed in compliance with BS 5395-3:1985 code of practice for stairs, ladders, and walkways, these units feature a robust integrated ladder and a protected top platform with a safety cage, allowing operators to work at height with total confidence. They are the industry standard for facilities where fixed gantries are not feasible or where access is required at multiple locations across a site.
