How do you safely separate pedestrians and vehicles in a warehouse?
Any mixture of industrial trucks and pedestrians offers the potential for accidents, so it is imperative that you take steps to minimise the associated risks. Use of physical barriers, marked pedestrian walkways, floor markings, and safety signs to separate people from machinery.
Creating designated crossing zones and establishing right-of-way rules are also key measures. Tadweld can provide several solutions to assist in this area, including bespoke pedestrian/forklift barriers and separation, bollards and floor-mounted corner protectors for racking and stillages. As well as our Ajax range of pallet gates.

The movement of goods and materials involves the use of a wide range of vehicles and accounts for a large proportion of accidents in warehouses. It is important to have a safe system of traffic management.
This should include methods and procedures for arrival, reception, unloading, loading and movement of vehicles within the premises. People and vehicles should be segregated as far as is reasonably practicable.
Floors and traffic routes should be constructed and designed to withstand the use to which they may be subjected, for example, physical damage from lift trucks and wheeled equipment or corrosion from chemical substances.
