We are thrilled to share that Tadweld has been named Manufacturer of the Year (under £10m) at the prestigious Made in Yorkshire Awards 2026. The awards, organised by Insider Media, were held at the Royal Armouries Hall in Leeds, bringing together the very best of Yorkshire’s manufacturing sector.
In a room filled with world-class businesses, Tadweld stood out for our growth, investment, and commitment to the next generation of engineering talent.

A Positive Growth Story
The judges of the award described Tadweld as a “really positive small business growth story.” Over the past year, we’ve achieved some incredible milestones that caught the panel’s eye:
- 38% Revenue Growth: Driven by a clear strategy and a dedicated team.
- Capital Investment: Significant upgrades to our facilities, production capability, and digital systems.
- Commitment to Talent: Our focus on apprenticeships and team development, delivering over 3,000 hours of training, was a key factor in our win.
“To be recognised amongst our peers in a region full of outstanding manufacturers is a huge achievement for the business and everyone who works here.” – Chris Houston, Managing Director
Momentum into 2026
This award follows a transformative 2025. We didn’t just grow in scale; we grew in capability. After acquiring new facilities and implementing a new ERP system to streamline our operations, we entered 2026 with more momentum than ever before.
As we look ahead, we aren’t slowing down. We recently welcomed our 50th employee, and our focus for the remainder of the year is on further strengthening our team.

What’s Next?
As a regional winner, Tadweld will now go forward to the national Made in the UK Awards this June.
We want to extend a huge thank you to our clients for choosing Tadweld as your steelwork solutions partner, and to our staff, whose hard work made this trophy possible.Interested in joining an award-winning team?
