Selected as a trusted fabricator for the food and drinks industry, Tadweld got to work offering an effective solution, despite tight installation timeframes and challenging factory access.

Challenge:

  • Tadweld were met with tight installation timeframes for this steel fabrication project, requiring precise coordination and efficient planning to deliver high-quality structural solutions.

  • There were other trades operating within the installation area, requiring Tadweld to coordinate closely with on-site contractors and adhere to health and safety protocols.

Actions:

  • Site Survey & Design: An initial site visit was conducted to carry out a detailed site survey for accurate quoting and project scoping. Once the steel fabrication project was secured, a dedicated project manager then attended site to complete a comprehensive 3D laser scan of the area, enabling Tadweld to digitally integrate our proposed design, identify potential obstacles, and ensure precise planning.

  • Fabrication: The fabrication was carried out using mild steel frames and structural supports, which were then painted. The finished platforms were fitted with robust aluminium durbar decking and complemented by corrosion-resistant stainless steel handrails to meet health and safety standards.

  • Installation and Construction: The installation phase was successfully completed over a continuous 9-day period, including weekend work to meet the client’s deadline. Tadweld dismantled and removed the existing steelwork frame and staircase, while also modifying an existing handrail. A critical infill platform was then fabricated and installed between the existing structure and the wall to support a new conveyor system, increasing output capacity for the factory.

Results:

  • Space Optimisation: Leveraging our steel fabrication and design expertise, Tadweld helped the client maximise available floor space and platform functionality, ensuring more efficient use of their production area.

  • Effective Solution and Client Satisfaction: Tadweld successfully delivered a cost-effective steel fabrication and installation solution on time and within budget for Phase One of the project. Following its success, Phase Two is now in development, further building on the operational improvements and reflecting the strength of the client-contractor relationship.
