Meet the team


Chris Joy

Operations Director

Chris started with Tadweld in 1995 as a sheet metal worker with a unique background, having trained and served his apprenticeship at the Eclipse Copper Company, followed by a number of years working for an exclusive commercial kitchen manufacturer fabricating and installing. At Tadweld, Chris soon became one of the key engineers for the large fabrication projects and due to his extensive knowledge and experience he also been at the forefront of the design and manufacture of many of the businesses special projects.

Due to his experience he was appointed Workshop Manager and then took on the Operations Director role in 2011. Chris now undertakes the majority of site surveys and is very involved with the initial design, fabrication through to the installation of many of the major projects.

Paul Rose

Chairman and Director

As one of Yorkshire’s leading entrepreneurs and former winner of EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year award, Paul has a wealth of experience in growing privately owned businesses. Paul joined the Tadweld board as a shareholder investor in 2017.

Richard Byfield

Richard has been the founder and a Director of several start up, mature and successful businesses over 37 year. Richard has been involved with Tadweld Limited for just over 20 years and having put together an investment team joined the board of directors in 2017.

Iain Leedham


Iain left University with a Business honours degree. He is an experienced business owner covering a broad cross section of different businesses from Asset Management, Property Development & Engineering to restaurants & Web-based platforms. Iain has been on the board of Tadweld since 2017 with a remit to improve the financial management of the business.

Kevin Wheelock

With a military and engineering background Kevin Wheelock brings a wealth of valuable engineering experience to the board. Through Kevin’s connections the company has now engaged exceptional third party Health and Safety and ISO consultants to take the business to the next level and  ensure that we will always be able to  meet (and hopefully exceed) the exacting standards now required especially with the larger installations.
