Proud of Our History
The Company was established in 1978 by David Smith as a specialised and one-off fabrication Company, operating from a small workshop on the banks of the river Wharfe in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire.
David Smith developed the business and we quickly grew, employing our first member of staff one year later as an apprentice. This apprentice developed and progressed as Tadweld grew and to this day he remains employed as our Works Manager.
As our reputation grew Tadweld Ltd relocated to larger premises in Tadcaster, where today Tadweld’s two specialist workshops deal separately with Mild Steel and Stainless Steel.
We are able to offer a full range of fabricated steelwork in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium – and because we have forming, rolling, cutting and punching equipment on site we have complete control over quality, delivery and lead times.
We are proud of our heritage and our long established reputation for unrivalled quality, service and reliability.
With our Spotlight on the Future –
Since our early beginnings in a humble workshop on the river bank more than 30 years on, we continue to grow and develop. We have witnessed ever changing market needs and substantial growth but one thing remains the same – practical, honest advice and David’s original vision and goal ‘to provide a quality product and first class service which exceeds expectations’.
Above all our Heritage and values remain ‘cast in stone in all that we do’.
Aiming for Gold
We are currently celebrating winning one of the prestigious RoSPA (the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Silver Occupational Health & Safety awards in 2011, having achieved Bronze in 2009 and 2010, our aim now is for Gold.
“The RoSPA Awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill health; they help to ensure that Tadweld Ltd have good Health & Safety management systems in place for the prevention of accidents. This award demonstrates that we care about our employees and will not compromise their standard of health & safety practice.”
